SOUTH OKANAGAN SIBSHOPS
SibShop's are events for kids ages 6 to 12 who have a sibling with diverse abilities. Games, crafts, snacks, and optional discussion are provided and supported by our registered SibShop Facilitators.

An opportunity for siblings to feel supported and special
SibShops are a fun and involved age-appropriate workshops for children who have a sibling with an intellectual or developmental disability, or life-limiting health condition. SibShops offer the siblings of children with special needs (collectively referred to as "Sibs") an opportunity to meet and develop a sense of community in a fun, recreational setting.
During these workshops, there will be opportunity to create crafts, share a snack, play games, and have discussions about the "Sibs" shared experiences. The games and discussions are meant to prompt support and/or consideration from children on how they might be feeling or experiencing home life, but it is ensured that there is no pressure to discuss or share their experiences unless comfortable.
The South Okanagan SibShop is presented through collaboration between Wordplay Therapy Services, Dragonfly Pond Family Society, and Penticton YMCA.
